Adam L. Barr
As the DC Regional Director for Democracy Builders, Adam leads a team that empowers parents to have a greater voice in the push for more high performing public schools. He is a proven organizer with a passion for empowering everyday people to do extraordinary things, and has been organizing DC communities since early 2007, when he founded DC for Obama. Before joining Democracy Builders, Adam managed a leadership development program for high achieving black male college students at the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, directed outreach for a national juvenile justice reform initiative, advised and supported federal government clients as a Management Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, and most recently led school and parent engagement efforts as Director of GreatSchools DC. A California native, Adam has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
As a Senior Vice President with Applied Predictive Technologies, Mark guides product strategy for the world’s largest cloud-based provider of predictive analytics software. He has over twenty years of experience building teams and growing organizations, with a focus on creating new technologies and applying quantitative analysis to drive decisions. Mark has a B.S in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
As a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Senate, Jon advises on education issues from early childhood and K-12 through higher education and job training, as well as on labor, arts, science, and poverty issues. Before coming to Capitol Hill in 2008, Jon taught 7th and 8th grade in the South Bronx, New York City with Teach For America. A California native, Jon has a B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Teaching (M.S.T.) from Pace University.
