The DC Funk Parade is a one-of-a-kind day fair, community parade and music festival to celebrate U Street, the city of DC, and the spirit of funk which brings people together.
Since 2009, the Grassroots Education Project has been empowering communities to serve neighborhood schools and improve student outcomes through direct outreach.
On Saturday, May 3, join us at Tropicalia for what promises to be an unforgettable evening, where we'll combine your love of gettin' funky with our shared responsibility to help our young people succeed in life.
While all DC Funk Parade activities are free and open to the public, you can support the Grassroots Education Project by purchasing a ticket to the party at Tropicalia. One $20 donation will get you three drink tickets to use during the evening, where you'll be gettin' down to the funky sounds of Cheick Hamala Diabate, Backbeat Underground, Joe Keyes and The Late Bloomer Band.
Get up. Get into it. Get involved.
We may not be able to sell tickets at the door, so don't wait. Register today.
